PTi Will Defend its QIP® and Quality Imaging Products® BrandsCHATSWORTH, California, October 3, 2005 - Printing Technology, Inc. (PTi), a world leader in imaging solutions, today announced that it is cracking down on companies who are using PTi’s trademarks without its authorization.

Recently, PTi discovered that a competitor located in Georgia was using PTi’s service marks, including QIP® and Quality Imaging Products®.  The Georgia company, which sold toners, operated under the name “Quality Imaging Products”.  But it is not connected with PTi.

At first, the Georgia company’s owner refused to stop using the names.  PTi’s attorney then sent a cease and desist letter threatening to sue the company.  On September 28, 2005, the company agreed to change his company’s name.  PTi was represented by attorney, Alan Cyrlin, Esq. of Tarzana, California.

 “PTi will vigorously defend its brands,” stated Peter DeSalay, PTi’s President and Chief Executive Officer.  “We are committed to producing the highest quality and most reliable toners in the world.  We want our customers to know that when they purchase products with PTi’s brands, they are buying high quality, environmentally friendly, low-cost solutions for their imaging supplies needs.”

 Mr. DeSalay added, “We want people to know that we are not associated with the company in Georgia.”

Earlier this year, PTi acquired the assets of Irvine, California-based Quality Imaging Products (QIP), a leading toner and inkjet remanufacturing company.  In the deal, PTi secured QIP’s intellectual property, including four California registered service marks for the brands “QIP” and “Quality Imaging Products”.

PTi’s other brands include “ITS AMAZING WHAT AN INK JET CAN DO”®, PTi™, and the PTi and butterfly logo.
